sugar and sugar substitutes...

Just so everyone will know:

Acesulfame Potassium
Sucralose
Neotame

these are artificial sweeteners. not made from sugar.

sucralose (splenda) is an artificial sweetner. a non-natural, manufactured sweetener not made from real sugar.

"The sweetness of Splenda derives from a chlorocarbon chemical that contains three atoms of chlorine in every one of its molecules. The manufacturer of this chlorinated compound named it sucralose. The improper use of “ose” in the name creates the illusion that sucralose is natural like sucrose which is the precise name for table sugar."

SUCROSE and SUCRALOSE are NOT the same thing.

Ace K is a sweetener that is commonly mixed with other artificial sweeteners. this is because sucralose covers the aftertaste of Ace K. and Ace K covers the aftertaste of Sucralose.

N
eotame is an artificial sweetener made by NutraSweet. It is chemically similar to the popular artificial sweetener aspartame, but is used at vastly lower levels and is much more stable.

All of the sweeteners in this blog are listed as ingredients of regular Tang. not diet tang but regular. No wonder my head has hurt for 3 days...

hair cont.

i didn't know who annie lennox was until today (did I just date myself?) but i like her hair. I don't think i would ever go this short but I do really like her hair.

another woman I've found is named andrea osvart. She is an actress but have no idea who she is, never seen any of her movies...but she has nice hair styles.

I wish I could put the video right on the blog but I can't for some reason. I was watching shear genius today on Bravo and there is a girl with really cute hair. It is similar to mine but a lot shorter still. You can look on the webpage to see pictures of her with it fixed all crazy but if you can catch the show or watch an episode from the webpage, it's very cute.

the video

pictures

I also like this woman's hair, though I don't like her. She has her own show on bravo now, something about taking over a salon. I'm not sure about that.
the video
some more pictures

I really like both of them. they are similar to my hair but i think just thinned out a lot, especially along the sides, which is where I like my hair the least.

ok that's probably enough for now

CHEMISTRY HELL

it is 921 and it has already been a bad day...

sitting in chemistry, the professor might as well have been yelling at me in german. Everything sounded so harsh and I had no idea what the hell he was talking about. My eyes teared up, I had a lump in my throat from trying to contain the sob that matched the tears. Not only do I have to learn chem 2 this semester, but I have to re-learn (funny statement because I never learned it) chem 1.

how wonderful

sometimes people surprise me.

school, school, the first day of school

I had my last first day of school today!

It started with a PACKED bus! Normally that bus route has the extended bus with the accordion type stuff in the middle so It will burn better, but today, of all days they had the regular size bus. I get on at the 4th stop and at the 5th spot there were people standing up, all the seats were taken. I wasn't sure if the bus driver was going to stop at the last few spots due to full capacity! he did though, it was like unloading cattle!

I did, to everyone's surprise, make it to my 8am chemistry class. My professor's name is Eli Hvastkovs (pron. h-vast-cos) I was really worried when I first saw his name, for obvious reasons... I was so worried that I wouldn't be able to understand what he was saying, he would be hard to talk to for help, etc. I get to class, sit down and in walks this HOT young muscular guy carrying the syllabus! You could hear all the girls sigh. it was quite funny. he starts talking and said that his classes are always relieved to see him walk in because they all expect some eastern European and he was born in America! (I have a feeling that is not the only reason people are relieved to see him walk in. I also have the feeling he will be hard to talk to for help just because he is so good looking.) I think that class is going to be a lot of hard work, obviously, but i think I'll do a better job at keeping up this year, since I'm motivated to graduate...

after Chem is done at 850 I walked over to the geology building for my first hydrology class! Dr. Spruill was everything analee told me he would be. When he first walked in he said everyone has to know everyones name before we can leave. then he introduced person 1, asked her some questions then went to person 2. after P2 he went back to P1, then P2, then moved on to P3. After P3 he repeated P1, P2, P3, then moved to P4, etc. it was amazing. I know everyone's name now, as long as they sit in the same seats next monday! Hydro was done by 950 but we had lab at 1230. Spruill has already helped me with chemistry. In lab we worked on conversions. changing gallons per day into ft3 per second, etc. I remember being really good at conversions in high school but somewhere between high school chemistry and college chemistry I lost it! now i'm sure, with Spruill's help, I'll get it back again!

Tomorrow (thursday) I only have one class. Societies Around the World. I had this professor last semester for Cultures of the South Pacific. He was amazing, a wonderful teacher (analee he is another that teaches by repetition) He comes in with his 3 ring binder for the class, start lecturing from memory and then at the end of class will scan through his notes to make sure he didn't miss anything. He is one of those very knowledgeable professors that has been everywhere and done everything. Dr. Bunger did his masters on some people in africa, I really don't remember where he said. His thesis was basically an ethnography of these people. He is also one of those teachers that goes off subject, telling stories of his time in africa. (FOR MOM... "I had a farm in Africa at the foot of the Ngong hills. I had a farm in Africa."

anyway I'll post tomorrow telling how the class goes.

hair cut

ok so I've been planning on chopping off the hair before school... I got online and looked up styles that I liked. here are my favorites:

OK so they are really cute. I got mine cut and it looks like this...

I really like it now. i wasn't so sure after I took a shower. I didn't have any hair product so it was just poofy. now it's cute. I unfortunately have to be more fashionable with the short hair, not jeans and oversized T-shirts!

Faithism No. 2

Baby Sam is home! the kids are all super excited and curious to see that the new baby brother will do. There was slight disapointment on bubba's face when he saw that all he did was sleep...

Melissa was putting sam in the little swing when faith came over:

F: There are 2 babies and I don't know which one to watch!
How sweet is that. she has been running back and forth from rocket to sam since they got home.

Faithism

Since melissa is out of commision for a few days, here is the latest faithism...

I was standing in the kitchen reading the schedule so I wouldn't forget something like snack, when faith came up.

F: When are you going to have a baby?

Me: I will be a long time faithers.

F: Yea because your egg and mark's nut have to bump into eachother. That's how a baby is made.

I just look at her, not knowing what to say.

F: That's what mamma and daddy told me.

Me: OH ok. yea that's how babies are made... but the egg and the nut can't really hit until after you're married.

F: OOOHHH ok.

Bubba was so sweet today. we went outside after supper so the kids could eat their ice pops and dixie could potty. Now bub has been sticking right to me, holding my hand outside and everything (and because he wants to, not because i tell him to!) OK so i decide dix needs to run for a minute to get out some of that never ending energy out. I tell the kids and we all decide to run down the sidewalk. ready set go! Dixie and I take off and all i hear is a scream and crying. All I can think is 'we're going to have to take bub to the hospital. he has fallen and broken something' Turn around and he is running at me with one hand up... I had taken off and left him. he was heart broken. i picked him up and held him. I didn't know what to do . that was SO sweet... he didn't let go of my hand after that. I had to ask to get my hand back so I could scratch my nose! SO sweet.
