we were so close to the lava I got nervous. If there was one big explosion, or one small wave, or if the bench collapsed, we would go right into the danger zone. It was a little too close for my taste.

Hawaii part 2: Maui

We were only on maui for less than 24 hours, long enough to eat 2 pineapples, great Korean barbecue, go to the beach for a morning swim and mark to play a round of golf with Jae.

Plumeria growing on a tree outside Jae's condo.

Paddle boarding... ever heard of it? really hard from the looks of it!!

North shore Maui, where the windsurfers go

reef area near windsurfers

one of 2 out that day. there was a storm coming in from the
south so all the windsurfers were on the south side.

Beautiful red flowered trees that were all over the island!
